What Is a Standing Seam System?

A standing seam system is a concealed fastener roofing system that attaches the metal roof to the roof deck with clamps instead of with fasteners that could allow moisture invasion.

Why Use Standing Seam Systems?

Anytime you break the surface of a roofing material to attach it, you create the possibility of leaks. When dealing with a composite material like a roofing shingle, the material is designed to be self-sealing with the fastener. Metal does not function in the same way, so that putting seams together with a fastener that goes through them always introduces a potential risk of leaks, water damage, and eventual corrosion.

Which System Is Right for My Roof?

To determine which system is right for your roof, you need to look at the system specifications and your roofing project. T-Panel is great if you need to be able to create convex or concave roof surfaces. Mechanical lock systems are extra watertight because their ends are sealed with a crimper. Nail strips are easy-to-install.
